1982 Vanden Plas XJ6 Rim Cap
Hi,
I was recently driving around a rotary when the cap from my front right tire came loose and fell off. I immediately noticed the car behind me stop and by the time I had gotten around the rotary again to pick up the cap he had grabbed it and left! I didn't get the plate as there was such heavy traffic, and I believe I am out of luck. I also cannot find one for sale online although maybe I'm looking in the wrong place. This is the rim I am talking about: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...09-07-2009.jpg I just need the cap.
Do any of you possibly have just one for sale or have any idea where I can find one? Cheers.

I think that is a Dayton bolt-on wire wheel. Here is a link to the manufacturer:
Wire Wheel Accessories
They supply the spinners (described as 'bolt on caps') but the problem could be getting the Jaguar logo.
Here is a set of four Jaguar spinners advertised for sale:
Jaguar Spinners(4) - Three Arm - RARE 6185 6185A - 1988 XJ6 Dayton Wire Wheels Parts for Sale - DragTimes.com
Hope this helps.

Thank you for these links and the info. I will call Dayton and see how much they want for one. I'm assuming that 'bolt on' is the same as on my xj. The 'spinners' in the 2nd link are exactly like mine but I was really hoping this wasn't going to be a hundred dollar problem. I only need the one. Cheers

I'm stuck figuring out how to get the Jaguar logo onto one of the Dayton pieces, or continuing to look for one around town. I'm bumping this post hoping still that someone reading might have a spare I can buy off of them. Cheers
