Well, this has been a fun car overall. But with loss of job and income, I can't afford to keep this thing going.
The good: Nearly new tires, lower ball joints, tie-rod ends. The previous owners (momma of a Jag dealer near Nashville,TN) had the transmission rebuilt around 100k. The timing chain tensioners and chain replaced around that time as well. Replaced the plastic thermostat cover and tower with aluminum product. New upper radiator hose connection. Rearview mirror rebuilt by manufacturer.
The bad: Power steering just went on it as I got home from the last trip to the airport. As in, backing into the parking space, and the groan noise of no fluid sounded. This morning, power steering fluid spreading down the surface of the parking lot.
Other smaller issues: plastic engine covers are not on-I have them, but heat and age have damaged the connectors. Drivers seat has a four inch or so split. Rear left passenger door release on the inside has broken cable connection-cable is fine. Will need exhaust work. Clearcoat finish needs replacement- unless you just are not concerned about it looking like a jewel.
This car has 161K miles. I keep the oil changed regularly. It does burn some, about two quarts per 5k miles.
I have a set of new front brake pads to go on. I thought it needed them when I bought it- but hadn't actually looked. The fronts squeal, but apparently someone failed to put on the anti-squeal gel. They were like brand new 15k ago. Still seem to be fairly decent, but I kept the pads, not knowing what the wear life would be. Also, the car came with other parts-upper and lower front ball joints. They are still in a box in the back.
I live in Franklin,TN. You can reach me via this post or at crazyivan58@gmail.com and I will respond as quickly as possible. KBB lists value around $2500 or so, selling for $2000.
