MAF XJ8 XK8 Mass Airflow Sensor
What I have is a MAF from a 1998 Jaguar XJ8. From what I am told this will work only with the 1997 and 1998 non-supercharged V8 engines because the 99s are different. It is in really good condition. If someone could verify this that would be awesome. I was told that it worked just fine from a car that was wrecked. I found out that my 99 MAF was different after I bought it, and I had bigger engine problems anyways. It is for sale as-is because it is a used part. Please email me if you have any questions. Part number: LJA1620AE
I am just trying to get out of it what I have in it. $120 plus shipping.

how to clean 97 xk8 lja1620ae mas
Hi All,
I have a 97 xk8 convertible V8 4L.
Anyways, im intrested in cleaning my MAS but the literature I find does not show how to clean this particular MAS. There dosent seem to be any screws i can remove that releases just the sensor.
My MAS looks exactly like the one in the pics above (part lja1620ae).
How do you clean this particular MAS ? looks like one solid unit.
Thanks in advance.

how to clean 97 xk8 lja1620ae mas
Hi All,
well , I answered my own question.
I took the MAFS unit (lja1620ae) out ,as depicted in picture, and if you look down the center of what looks like the jet engine intake, you will see the very tiny sensors that need cleaning. The sensors are deep in the center so the pics don't show it, but if you put your eyeball close to real item you will see it. spray some MAFS cleaner in there and hopefully you will clean it well enough. I ended up using a fine paint brush and a steady hand to remove what the spray cleaner could not wash off the sensor.
Just be very careful doing this else you could damage the sensor and you will need a new one.
