As with many specialized tools, they are absolutely essential for doing a job correctly and easily, but once they have been used, they may never be used again and just accumulate dust in the toolbox. Such is the case of the Tensioner Tool Kit. If you've done your Jaguar timing tensioner, you most likely won't need it again in that car's lifetime.

While I don't need it right now, replacing the the tensioners is on my "to-do" list as my 2003 XJ8 has turned 100K. I'm hoping that a forum member has a complete tool kit that they don't need and would like to pass along to another member to help keep the "breed" alive. This would A) help you recover some of the tool cost, B) Help a fellow member save a little $$$ and C) Insure that it stays active, as I will pass it along to the next needy owner at the same price that you are asking.

OK. I've been schooled. I learned in the last 24 hours that the 2003 model had an uprated timing chain and tensioners that aren't made of plastic and don't need changing like the previous years. My bad. So the short answer is that I don't need this tool kit. DUH!

I'm surprised that no one here brought this up. LOL
