It is sad that you've had to stop making kits but I appreciate you have to do what's best for you. I was hoping to one day buy a 2.6 kit, but at least I can say I have one of your early TS kits on my STR which is probably the only STR running that supercharger in the world. You were a pleasure to deal with Andre and think you're a true pioneer. If you have any old stock you want to get rid of from your STR kits let me know
Sad to see this end, I was looking for an XK8 again just to get this kit installed
Do you have any thoughts about selling or posting for free a "build your own" kit?
CAD designs of the adapter plate, specs for parts, Supercharger machining tips and such? It's be nice to have your legacy continue. Just a thought.
Thanks again for the entertaining thread and great ideas.

That’s my though as well and out of appreciation for everyone who have bought this unique kit (that’s at least how I feel about it), I’ll keep it unique as well.
As mentioned, who knows what the future will bring, however one thing is for sure, I can’t make a kit anymore for the low price I have done so far in case I might take on a build again in the future (please don’t hold your breath for it!).

very sorry to read this avos ! i was too slow and too broke for too long .
or i would have also been reeking the benifits of your wisdom and skills .

Andre definitely did something of genius with that 2.6 kit, the craftsmanship and design of all the custom made parts (particularly the inlet/intake) is something to behold. Most if not all of those who have it probably won't be able to exploit the full potential of that kit (blower is rated at 950rwhp) as to run it to really high boost isn't possible without adding meth or using race fuel; that's a testament to the durability of the kit itself. It would've been good if a separate 'tuner' style kit was offered in conjunction with this 'full-fat' one, for people only looking for a more modest 100-120bhp gain using a smaller, cheaper and easier to install head unit like a 2.1KB for example. This could be used in conjunction with the stock TB/MAF and injectors (easily enough reserve for this power with a tune) thereby reducing the final price further. I imagine something like this would have sold in much larger numbers and offered more blower options for our cars which is only a good thing. Plus it would require far fewer custom parts reducing reliance on suppliers.
When it comes to the specific cad design of the STR intake, credit has to go to Tony (tonyu47) for supporting me with the CAD drawings, measurements on his own STR and finalizing the whole intake (that wasn’t an easy job)!
Many however have contributed in the learning curves as well, especially all the 1st buyers, so all in all over the years it has been collaboration. It definitely has been a pleasure and I it was a privilege to have received so much trust and enthusiasm!
Till today I still love the extra horses, and try not to leave any opportunity behind where I can use it. For me it has made the package complete (elegance, power, classic) , so much so that it is still my daily driver (now at 455.000 km), and there isn't much out there that could replace it for me.
Avos,
I want to increase my hp to 500-550... what would you recommend? Increased displacement, bore TB, bigger maf is on my list... you think I should have someone fit a twin screw or tvs? Would a 2.1 kb be easier?

But you need to have extra electronics to manipulate the TPS signals, which I do not make anymore, so can't help you there.

Avos obviously knows much better than me but from personal experience, just a twin screw supercharger is the cheapest and easiest way to add power to these cars. A 2.1KB will easily support 540bhp on the 4.2s with stock TB/MAF. I currently have a 1.7 which is already very fast, but if it ever breaks, the 2.1 is identical in dimensions so I can have the parts machined to retrofit a 2.1 instead of going back to the Eaton. So yes, install 2.1KB for 500HP plus relatively easily and don't look back
To fit a TVS or TS is probably about the same amount of work. TVS is good until 15 psi, above that (and that's what's required), the TS becomes the better choice, especially the 2.6H versions (they compress the air already inside to 15 psi).
Important is to have good airflow into the SC, best is no bend anywhere at all, so that is how you need to go about, so just imagine how the air has to flow into the SC.
The 2.1 is still a tight fit if you want to keep the original elbow setup. Although the unit can handle lots of HP, if you choke the intake it will not perform.
With a highly modified stock intake elbow and stock TB I was able to get 455 rwhp with the 2.1, but as said it requires some modifications to the intake to have the air flow as nice as possible.
Never had one in my hands, of course the outer dimension are different so not a direct replacement, but the internals remain the same, ie roots blower with 112 cu displacement.
My understanding is that restrictive intake would give you less PSI at the same TS RPM. Can I use a smaller pulley to get the same final PSI through the restrictive stock intake instead of bigger pulley, lower RPM through less restrictive one?
