I live in UK and will be moving to Portugal, so I will need to change my headlights (2005 XKR convertible) for left hand drive / right hand dip. If you have a pair in excellent condition and would be prepared to wrap immensely carefully (!) and send to the UK would you let me know. I'll obviously cover all additional costs incurred, such as customs and of course despatch.

 

The early car aren't switchable like the X150's?

 

Thanks, Ranchero - unfortunately, I understand not. Headlight converters are available, but I understand the stringent Portuguese tests do not permit them.

 

NO - definitely not.

I had to use convertors on both my 2001 and 2005 XK8's when touring on the Continent but this is not an acceptable solution when importing a RHD vehicle to several European countries.

The early XK switch was useful and I was delighted to find the later ones are both LH and RH compatible without any change being required.

Diddion: I do envy you the move to Portugal, David. Good luck sourcing a pair of RH dip headlights.

Found a really helpful company in Netherlands (All4Jags) though they have a French website. Danielle is providing me with a pair of units at 1000 euros total, plus 42 euros insured delivery to the UK. Excellent, careful service to ensure they are the correct items. I'm a happy cookie!
