Default xj40 speakers

I've been thinking of trying this for some time so here goes. I would like a set of Good stock door speakers for my 94 xj6. I "think" speakers from some newer years will work. The rubbery flex edges of mine are rotted off and the sound is as awful as can be imagined. I have the stock radio which works and I dont want to change it out so I don't need high class upgrades. I am not going to cut up my door panels, and for what the car is worth, I am not going to spend big dollars. I will pay a reasonable price for speakers in good condition and am not in a huge hurry to get them. Anyone? Thanks! Jerry

You can replace the rubbery flex edges on your speakers...

Never tried this and I have no connection to this vendor. There are probably others...

I replaced the rubber edges on speakers in one of my cars a few years ago. I can't recall the name of the company I sourced the kits from. The job was a relatively easy task and, when done, the speakers sounded like new.
