Back at the drag strip!
Got a couple of my runs on video, thought I'd share. Yesterday's victims were a new Camaro SS and a Pontiac Grand Prix GTP Supercharged on drag slicks. My best time was a 13.7 @ 101.4 with a 2.0 60' and a DA just short of 7000 ft. It would convert to a mid-upper 12s @ 107-108 at sea level.
Nice! Glad to see someone is still taking their STR to the track!!! When you use the suction mount for the camera, do you worry it will fall off? I haven't been brave enough to put mine on the outside yet.
I imagine the guys in the other cars pulled up to the line thinking "Jaguar sedan? This is going to be easy." Then at the end, both thinking "WTF?" The S-Type Rs are true sleepers. Congrats on the wins and the camera work!
Thanks for the comments. People are definitely surprised by at (at least the first time
). I haven't had anyone avoid lining up against it, but I can tell there are plenty of people who think its just another 16 second boat. The suction mount has been great and never even feels loose as long as I put it on a clean, dust-free surface. Its supposed to be rated for up to ~120, but I've seen and heard of people doing well over those speeds without an issue. I will try and get some video of the XFR (with the 5.0L) I usually go with as well. If you thought an STR was fast...he's over a full second faster!
I will be updating this thread throughout the season. I have at least 6 more outings scheduled.

7 more runs yesterday, wasn't hooking well and couldn't better my time. I have at least 3 more runs tomorrow.
My GoPro died before my last run, but my buddy finally hit 3rd gear in his Boss 302 and got me before the line.

The Boss missed 3rd both runs. I ran him later after my GoPro died and he hit 3rd and got me at the line with a 13.8 @106 (I think his best was a 13.68). Tonight I was back out there and went 13.61 while hitting the brakes at the end (dial time racing, broke out anyways). At my altitude, I beat stock 5.0s and would be a driver's race with a stock Boss.
Is the twin screw even available yet? Is it going to cost less than a whole STR? LSD would be nice, but it would also be nice to shift at redline in 1st and 2nd gears, be able to get a real tune, change the gearing, etc...
Anyways, I was back at it last night. New personal best of 13.61 @98.44. The low trap was due to me hammering the brakes before the line trying not to break out in a dial-in elimination format. It didn't work as I broke out anyways; probably could've been a 13.59 @102 or 103. The DA on that run was around 7600 ft, so I would've been mid-upper 12s easily at sea level. Of course, everybody and their mom has a Camaro, so my night wouldn't be complete without running 1 or 2 of them
.
Sorry about the camera angle (which is too bad since we were neck and neck almost the whole way). Its the fastest Camaro I've run yet, but it still couldn't get me
.
And surprise, surprise: another Camaro (and another tight win for the STR):
This is where I ran my new PB. The bike dialed a 10.50, so I got over a 3 second head start. I pulled a 2.004 60', also a new PB (had a 2.005 60' against the first Camaro).

Great races and you've really gotten your launch down.
Did you run a baseline dyno prior to your mods? Just noticed your torque...WOW!!! You've got me beat by 65 foot pounds at the wheels. What dyno type did make your runs on?
I have not been able to race much at all since this Spring due to my new job...
