Back at the drag strip!
Well, it finally happened. I beat a Corvette in a straight up match. It was a C5 auto with a bunch of "Official Indy 500 Pace Car" emblems all over it, but it couldn't keep up
. It was warm all night and a little humid (30% is humid here), so no times worthy of reporting. Did see a couple interesting cars that were much slower than I thought they'd be: A post-facelift NSX ran 14.5-14.6, and two new ISFs ran 14.9-15.1. I will try to sneak my go-pro in next go around if I don't get caught; I still have 2 or 3 more scheduled trips this season.

True, c5's with a decent driver are a low 13's car. They had 345 hp back then. The one advantage you have is forced induction with a fat torque curve. Your car does move on out... That's for sure.
Speaking of vettes, I went to a c6 427. Overcoming the weight disadvantage of the jag versus the vette is very impressive.

3 more runs last Friday. It was HOT and the DA was around 9000 all night. I broke out in round 1 against a Camaro SS. If you can make it out in the video, I hammered the brakes for the last 1-200 feet or so but still broke out despite only trapping 82 mph.
