I see that there are a few dyno results floating out there in various threads, including two of mine. I just got my STR dyno'd a third time to see the effects of the Mina Gallery and Borla exhaust combination I had installed a couple months ago and wanted to organize all of my dyno results in one thread:
1) Stock except for drop-in K&N air filter: ~320 HP | ~317 FtLbs; Ambient temperature: ~ 90 degrees F.
2) Russ's intake tube: 330 HP | 323 FtLbs; Ambient temperature: ~ 90 degrees F.
3) Mina Gallery exhaust & Borla 400287: 339 HP | 338 FtLbs; Ambient temperature: ~ 80 degrees F.
... and a video of 1 of the pulls from this dyno session:
4) Mina Gallery 1.5 Pulley: 355.2 HP | 360.2 Ftlbs; Ambient temperature: ~ 60 degrees F.

Thanks for keeping this scientific! This is definitely the first thing I noticed about our community is the lack of sample space, which is probably due to the fact of the limited number of cars and high entry level price. Nonetheless, thank you for posting your results. I really do not understand why manufacturers of aftermarket jaguar parts have not posted results just like yours especially in the same easy to read format. It's all about results, very simple. Looking forward to your pulley install as well as a few other forum members who have mentioned doing this as well. Mine is slated for Nov with a dyno/ 1/4 mile.

Don't know this type of dyno, other than it uses 2 drums per wheel, so has a higher resistance on the tires. My experience with large single drum systems is that you have about a 17% drivetrain loss. For this type it may be around 20% (calculation would then be engine hp = rwhp/0.80), so 320rwhp = 400bhp, and 339rwhp = 424 hp.
What you still need to know with these dyno slips is was it corrected for SAE STD, SAE or DIN or uncorrected. For the latter it would be needed to know the temp/baro pressure to understand the figures better.

Goblue, in regards to Mustang dyno: To be frank, I paid very little attention to what was going on during the dyno run. The shop was small and evrything went down too fast for me, a novice, to comprehend. I had little time to hang out due to having to see my afternoon patient load. The operator either didn't have the printer operational or didn't care wether I wanted the results. It took me two months to recieve the results via e-mail and this happened due to my bank reversing his fee back into my account, and my re-releasing the funds only after eventually recieving the sheet via-email. The shop was 45 miles from my office, so driving that distance in 80 degree heat without a cool down save a bag of ice on each charge cooler before and after each run, were much less conditions required for a determination of power. After the first pull, the operator told me she cranked out 360 rwhp. He said a larger intercooler may be able to retrofitted but he'd have to look her over to consider the possibility. He also said he has a friend who may have the software to tune the ECU. All in all, my impression was he was a BS artist looking only to skim $120 for 3 lousy orchestrated runs. During the pulls, the ABS light came on then eventually turned off after a few miles. Sorry for providing little but anecdotal evidence for the STR's capabilities. IMHO, unless a twin screw becomes available, a blower port/polish and "Killer Chiller" is the way to go for a much noticeable powerful street mannered STR putting down between 450 and 470 chp depending on 1.5 or 3 lb pulley, cats, modded air intake tube w/K&N a/f, and possibly an ECU tune. Arden claims 500 chp and 515 lb/ft trq. for its topshelf tuned STR.

The problem is finding an actual dyno tuner for these cars. $1k for an off-the-shelf is outrageous; even more-so if modded with a 3lb. pulley and adding a killer chiller or meth; as the tune won't be any more effective with more aggressive mods. On top of that, the shelf tunes are likely more worthless for me considering I'm at 5500 feet in altitude and the octane ratings are different than sea level or around there.

Quartzstr, R U running the stock rear boxes? We have nearly identical exhaust components. I run a pair of 18" glasspacked tube mufflers prior to a pair of turbo mufflers. Even with these the interior drone whilst under a load s a wee bit too much.

I am running stock mufflers for now. My exhaust setup is going to get changed at some point; the x-pipe is causing a real raspy sound around 1800-2300 rpm under normal driving (it sounds fine under WOT ). I will be adding some sort of resonators to try and counteract the rasp, but I only drive it once a week or so; therefore its not a high priority right now. My high flow cats are the OBD2 style, slightly different than what most are running. This way I don't get a CEL and I'm not running O2 sensor extenders, but I still get the benefit of the reduced restriction.
You definitely dont want to add more mufflers when the x pipe IS the issue. Best of luck

Rasputin mentions the Magnaflow Tru-X dual inlet/outlet center muffler with built in x-pipe. This corrected the rasp in my 03 STR, however, without the stock rear boxes, the interior drone is too much when she's under a load in higher gears. Any suggestions for replacement rear boxes, aside from stock, such as a stock direct replacement? This'll allow deleting the pair of pre-mufflers. Wow, we're way off thread topic. Should we begin a new thread? Or is this old news?
