Default Painting Calipers... thoughts?

So my car is coming together performance-wise and now I'm focusing on how it looks. I just had it lowered with Mina springs and have a set of 18" Forgestar CF5 wheels in gunmetal that I'll be adding soon. Before I do that though, I wanted to get some opinions on caliper paint. I generally like to stay subtle with the appearance of any mods but these pictures of green cars with painted calipers caught my eye:

1) Gold calipers:

2) Yellow calipers:

I am under the school of thought you should match your calipers to your wheel color. I think gunmetal would keep the color scheme consistent. My color is roughly the same color as your car and I painted mine black. So either color matched to your wheels or black.

Pink wasn't one of the choices! LOL.

For me , its one of those really individual choices dependent both on the person and also the type of car he's driving.

Unless its a really racey type car I'd just go with either stock silver to smarten them up or perhaps black.

If you really think the sporty look will go with the car I'd say either Yellow or Red.

YELLOW FTW. I am a fan of making the Brembos pop and be noticed from the rims. With the gunmetal rims the yellow will really pop with the BRG. I say go yellow.

I agree.

Not that anyone asked for MY two cents.....but the whole brightly painted caliper thing comes under the heading of "frivolous adornments" in my book. Sorta fru-fru.

Running for cover.... :-)

Cheers

Agreed. It's not nearly as functional as having a big leaping cat on the hood!

I would never ever add a Leaper to a modern Jag, as everyone knows, I think they look wrong, read Naff.

Painting callipers, not going to happen, but, if I did, whatever they were supplied as would be the theme.

Then again, Fluorescent Mint Green, just for the hell of it.

Way back when Doug, Myself, Jim, Rick, were young drivers, there was a thing about tyre painting all the letters on the side wall white.

I'll stand to be corrected, but I'm sure this fashion is rather passée.

Idem calliper painting.

You almost have it right with gold, but I think the best color would be bronze! I think that your green STR and gunmetal wheels will looks best with bronze calipers as everything would have a dark theme (gold is a little shiny). Don't forget to pay attention to the seals when you paint them, and contact Brembo to get some "Brembo" stickers for the calipers after you paint them because big calipers that people paint and otherwise leave blank look naked to me.
