'03 Center console won't open... HELP!

'03 Center console won't open... HELP!
I recently bought an '03 Stype 3.0 and I love it!
There is one question though. I pull up on the silver release and the only 'option' is for the center console is to move back. You can't raise it up.
How do you get to the compartment? All I can do is slide theis thing forward and back to releave the cup holders.

He hasn't answered yet on how he may have opened his. Like I said in that thread. I don't see any way to take it apart from the outside, so you may have to get a new part first then plan on breaking in to your console to replace the door.
