Default '04 S won't start, battery is good?

I picked up my '04 S type from the dealer two days ago after having a transmission fluid leak.
Drove it home and parked it until time for work yesterday a.m. Car would not start..not even turn over. It was as if the battery had been removed..nothing. On the dash I get "transmission fault" in the message window and all hands on gauges peg over clockwise. Everything else electrical works fine. Called my service rep at dealer and he said it was the battery. I took it out and had it checked out at NAPA and it is good.

Now having it towed back to dealer, but wondering if anyone else has seen this before?

Thanks!

The most common internet guess would be a bad connection at the transmission control module electrical connection on the back of the transmission. These are known leakers and if that is the repair that was made the connector likes to get stretched pins and cause loss of signal from TCM causing loss of IN PARK signal to the ECM which in turn causes no crank. Usually can be repaired by tightening the pins but sometimes requires replacement of the short link lead from the TCM connector. Again this is an internet diagnosis and many other possibilities exist but considering the recent repair history I know this is where I would look first.

Thanks to both for reply.

Real_Tech..What you are describing sounds exactly what is happening. I had it towed in and the service dept did a printout on the battery that showed the CCA under the specified amps so they insisted it was the battery.

I picked up a new battery and the service rep had a tech install it for me (no charge)this a.m. as I picked up my car. It started and I drove to work. Just a few moments ago, I tried to leave for lunch and the transmission seemed to not change gears, like a slip?, then there was a pop sound in the tranny and a "transmission fault" message on the dash and the eng. light illuminated.

I pulled over and turned off the ignition. When I tried to restart it...the same original problem...turn the key over and NOTHING, just as though the battery was removed. All with the new battery. I waited a few minutes and the car started and I had the message "reduced performance" in the dash display along with the illuminated engine light??

I drove at a very reasonable speed and picked up my lunch and the trans shifted at all the correct rpm's and I did not notice any reduction in performance.

This has never happened before and happened the first time I restarted the car from bringing it home after they replaced a tranny gasket and this control module thingy to correct the one-time big fluid leak...so it seems a little to coinky-dinky to not be related to that repair. Especially since I had a "transmission fault" reading in the display when it originally would not start.

Real_Tech...you were spot-on!

My service rep from the dealer called me to say what you suggested was happening is in fact EXACTLY what was wrong! F#$%g AMAZING!

I told him SE should pay you instead of my dealer!

Thanks so much to you and all the other techs and experienced jag owners with mechanical aptitude.
