Hello,

Newbie here (just posted an intro in the newbie area). I will be taking delivery on an 05 S-type R either the end of this week or next week and just wanted to get familiar with the boards here and ask a few questions.

First, for the bluetooth connectivity for my phone, is Jaguar's pin code 3131? Second, what are my options as far as iPod hookup...is there a manufacturer option that I can have it hardwired to the system? Or must I stay with my current FM transmitter?

Now to some performance upgrades...I am new to Jag (Mercedes before this), and I really have no idea where to look online for performance products. The few places I have seen are across the pond in Britain. Anyway, I'll be looking for a few upgrades....supercharger pulley, intake kit, exhaust, heat shield intake kit. Wondering what sites I can find these at? I located the pulley and some exhaust systems at jaguarxp.com, but I have no idea about the other items (namely chip). I'd appreciate any help, suggestions, etc with my search.
Oh I forgot to mention...I want to tint my windows (prob 35% all around), but I have heard tints with metal oxides interfere with AM radio and sometimes navigation. Anyone have any problems with this?? Also, is there tint film with no metal oxides? Is it pricier/rare to find?

Thanks for the replies....do any of you know of any Jag performance companies/service shops located in the US? I'm located in Philly, so anywhere around there, Jersey, NYC, or Maryland would be ideal

OK...from jaguarxp.com, I'm going to go with a supercharger pulley and intake system to start off. (should give additional 25 or so hp at the wheels). Phase 2 will be an exhaust...out of the 3 on jaguarxp.com, which one would you recommend, Mina, Remus, Arden? The Arden is about $600 more than the Mina...any opinions? Any other exhaust recommendations? My final upgrade would be an ECU chip. This is the one area I'm not finding a lot of info on...is there any one chip that is the standard for Jags? I know some no-name ones can cause problems...I know most other cars, you want to go with THE chip for that particular vehicle, just not sure what that is for a Jag.

wow just checked out the Arden ECU -- $5500!! I don't need 35 extra hp that badly...wow.

I hope their math is off or something...$5500 for "R" ECU. Unless I am completely missing something here...

Check out the S Type R Registy at www.styperregistry.com. There is lots of good STR specific info there.

Are you planning to dyno you car before and after each upgrade to see the actual increses?

By the way, I am about 45 minutes North West of Philly in the Lehigh Valley.
