2000 3.0 s type running poor antil it reaches running temperature
Hello I have just bought a 2000 3.0 s type 72k miles. I have a problem with it from cold it starts fine but it's noisy from the exhaust and engine not firing properly under load such as steering or put it in drive and it only splutters not revving as if misfire but when it reaches running temperature It runs perfectly pls any help would be greatly appreciated

Have you had the codes read? Free at any big box auto parts store. Sounds to me you have a or many vacuum leaks.
In the "How To" subdirectory in the d type forum there is a great diy on chasing down vacuum leaks.
I would post link but my phone will not allow me to cut and paste correctly. I will try, you may have to copy and paste link below.

Hello and thanks for the reply
I've got a sealy code reader and it's not showing any faults. It starts fine but exhaust sounds rattley and louder then usual and the engine struggles under any load at times antil it reaches running temperature then it's perfect sounds fine but as I say no codes the engine management light flashed a couple of times but that was only the once, any advice would be appreciated cheers

Flashing = misfires so terrible they're damaging the cat(s).
Do not let it happen or you'll be replacing one/both cats.
Try hunting for air leaks - OBD tool with live data and look at fuel trims (see the many threads).
If none, probably bad coil(s).
With that engine and era it's likely a perished hose causing an air leak. Threads explain which/where...
