Unhappy 2000 s type with fail safe engine mode

I posted about this a few days ago. I'm still new and the rules confuse me, so if this is in the wrong place, please someone guide me thru and be specific...I don't do well with icons and shortcuts...I have a 2000 s type, v-6 and I have replaced both brake switch and cruise cut off switch..I had a P1572 code. The car runs great, and the brake lights work as well as the cruise (which was not working before) but it still flashes the "fail safe engine mode" and after a short while, it goes to limp mode. I shut it off, restart and keep driving, but it's not safe and very annoying. I would really appreciate any ideas. I've had the codes cleared at the local auto parts house, but it comes right back. Thanks in advance for your help.

You'll need a more advanced code reader than what the auto parts store can provide. In the meantime, hook her up to a full diagnostic code reader, check wiring harness, then report back. Others will be here soon to help.

Bill I don't believe that the P1572 will cause a limp home.

If I am reading this right, you have cleared the P1572 but that codes comes back?

My guess is there are more codes, engine related. Maybe go back and have the vehicle reread.

I agree. The codes PDF doesn't say it restricts power so probably more code(s).

The P1572 could be (read: probably is) due to poor wiring/connector. Chafing near the pedal has been known, as an example.

Your throttle pedal position sensor could be faulty

That doesn't cause P1572 does it?
