Default 2000 S-Type relay guide

Does anyone know where I can find a relay guide to the car? My reverse lights do not work. The bulbs are new and I have no blown fuses and it looks like I have power at the socket, which looks like it is switched ground like my other car. My 3rd brake light also does not work and is new, replaced by the dealer when we bought the car. Thanks.

JTIS CD do a search here. I got mine online at Ebay for $25 including shipping.

Your rear lights are controlled by the REAR ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE. It is located at the far right side of the trunk or boot. You are right about the light being hot and the ground switching. It's a power transistor thing. Right behind the CONTROL MODULE is the ground point for the Module. Check there first and then the plugs. The fuses are back there too.

Ready for more fun? This is why you need the JTIS CD. It is possible for the back up lights to have a problem in the wiring from the Transmission Control Module. On the Rear Electronic Control Module, look for plug CA 102. The wires for the backup are numbers 1 and 2. The trans module is up front on the left side as you look under the hood.

That's what I was thinking was the case as I knew it needed signal from the transmission. If I had to guess based on what I know right now I would have to say it would be the module since the 3rd brake light isn't working either. I had to replace the BCM in my GTO because the low speed fan output went out, so I was out $180 to do it myself. I haven't looked up the cost of the part yet if that turns out to be the case, but I'm going to look it up right now.

Check the grounds first. There are several and it is quick, cheap and easy to do. Make sure the ground wires have continuity to the module.

Sounds good. I'll snag my meter from work and check it out.

I finally got a chance to take a look at the module. The grounds are good and solid, but I'm getting no output for the reverse lights or center brake light. I was unable to identify the trans input to the module, but even based on the center brake light, the module is bad.

I really haven't done anything with this until last weekend. I couldn't find any signal for reverse anywhere except at the shifter which is just for the light indicator on the shift assembly. I tested every plug on the rear electric module and found no signal anywhere in or out. I'm pretty sure the reverse switch on the transmission is bad and I've read on other models this has been somewhat of a common issue. Does anyone know what the part number is for this switch? Supposedly it only takes a few minutes to replace and it is not an expensive part.
