Default 2000 s type wont start

Howdy,
Am a member of other makes of cars but , just got this JAG 2000 s type V8 and it is sitting in my friends garage and it was running just fine. Sitting for about a month and now it turns over, but will not start. Put scanner on and got a P0001 code that says fuel volume regulator open. Fuel inertia switched is depressed and checked all fuses. Big help needed please.

What is the age of the battery? Since these vehicles draw the battery down rather easily, many OBD codes and other starting issues are the result.

Thanks. Can you tell me where and how to check it? Also do I need any special tool to get to it?

Please correct that code as it does not exist.

Possibly bore wash (Search has details) but check other things first.

Default same problem

I have the same problem, I let the car sit for about 5-6 weeks without running it. The battery was dead, so I replaced it with a new one. It turns over strong but will not start. It also had a full tank of gas the whole time it was sitting. Any help would be appreciated !!!

Gus, thanks so much. This solved my problem. I had charged the battery all night and the engibe turned over strong so I assumed the battery was good. When I read the link you sent it talked about how the jaguar is sensitive to the actual voltage so I jumped it with my jeep. Started right up. Need to replace the battery. Thanks again.

Many of the codes and electrical faults mentioned on this forum are often 'repaired' with a fresh battery. If the fuel pump, along with other components, does not have sufficient voltage, it will not run.
