2001 S Stereo NAV upgrade
Hi there. So I have been researching upgrading my NON Premium stereo. Here is what I have found thus are: have worked according to my research.
Note that the non premium sound systems of 2001-2002 do not use fiber, nor integrate with the HVAC controls. This came out in about 2002.5
1. Pioneer AVIC 6200 NEX head unit. Stereo and NAV.
2. Ford 70-1770 adaptor wiring harness.
OR
3. as stated by Signified2106 member wiring harness.
walmart " Scosche 82-03 FORD Car Stereo Connector - Walmart.com ", This one was proven to work. It is true it is Ford.
4. Metra 95-7321 Double Din dash kit works with some modifications. Proven by others on this forum. This one is very thin in frame etc.
5. Pioneer DD adtva133 (double Din kit) may work and is listed for the above head. (likely mods req.)
6. PAC swi-ps steering wheel control.
So, I'm planning on starting with the above. Any input or corrections of what will OR will not work for the above are appreciated. Signified2016 thanks for all the detailed photos. It helps greatly!
Note: Car now has about 50k miles. Planning on tensioners before 60k.
