You do not indicate your location, but the 2.5 was never imported into North America, so I am guessing GB or the EU. If that is the case, then the question becomes "is your car a 2002, or 2002.5 model?" If your VIN is M45254, or under, you have a 2002. M45245 or above, you have a facelift, X202 S-type with revised manifolding etc.

The short answer is yes, the intake manifold has to come off to change the spark plugs on one bank. Parts depend on which version you have. What are the last six digits of your VIN?

It's a 2002.5MY (2003MY USA) as the 2.5 came in then.

Same plugs I expect as the 3.0 but check online parts...

The Jaguar spark plug part number for the V-6 is: C2S46895.

You can use this and run a search for compatible after-market parts. I would also recommend replacing the manifold oval rings and valve cover gaskets at the time you replace the spark plugs as removing the intake manifold is somewhat labor intensive; you do not want to do this on multiple occasions if not absolutely necessary.

... and on a car of this age, one might consider changing the coils while everything is open. Even ones from known brands (Delphi, Hitachi, Bremi) are not so expensive - about 25€ each in Germany.

Plugs should be the long-life types (platinum or iridium). The searches often also throw up the normal nickel ones.

Since the inlet manifold must be removed to access the plugs and coil units on the A Bank, it's also a good practice to replace the cam cover gasket and spark plug boss seal as well. If there is any oil present in the spark plug wells, the cam cover gasket and boss seal must be replaced.
