2003 jaguar s type r stuck in gear
Hello guys. I did a transmission service on my car today when i finished the job the car would not start i found that i did not seat the sleave in the tranny all the way in which caused the electric plug to not go in all the way so i took out the sleave and put it in correctly and the car fired right up and went in all the gears correctly but now a hour later it wouldnt shift at at all it was stuck in drive in all the gears and it will not start again as of now i hope some one can help me out
That's not good ,
if you could not start the car during a trans service ,
and didn't try starting it till you were compleat/finished the job , then that means you have not done the service correctly , you have to run the engine wilst temp checking the oil with the fill Bung out . So If that's the case - and you did not start the engine to set the oil/fluid level
It may be over filled . Be sure you done that correctly .
Your fault could be over full conditions ,
however could also be a faulty brake peddal switch
or j gate locking solenoid , with just uncanny coincidental timing , but unlikely
Also check your battery is full ,
and maybe try to reboot the car involving the battery cables . Plenty of insrictions on how to reboot the car on the forum .

Also, check the two bolts that hold the shifter near the transmission. They often come loose and when they do the car cannot be shifted out of park.
