Question 2003 S TYPE R Driver's seat memory.

I have recently traded my 2001 3 litre S Type for a 2003 S Type R.
Both great machines in their own way, but the new vehicle is a real wolf in sheeps clothing - what a beast!
One thing that I can't seem to get a handle on from the agents - the drivers seat in the old car when set on memory position, returned to maximum extension & the steering wheel moved upwards when the key was removed from the ignition. The S Type R doesn't do this - should it? Does it have an electrical fault?

It should do it, check the switch (the switch where you adjust the column and stuff) it should be positioned on auto, if this doesnt help let me know

I ran into this same problem. This is what I have found out which may be what it is. If you leave it in auto then go up and down with the knob it should adjust the steering wheel still. Once you get it where you want it then hit memory and store it leaving it in auto. Now it should move out of your way when you exit the car and move where you want it when you enter. Mine seemed to work once I set it like that. It also sets your headrest height too incase you move that alot. I sleep in my car every morning before work so 1 is driving and 2 is sleeping so I've played with it alot. Hope this helps.

Thank you to JAGMASTER; VANCE580; JAGV8 & CADILLAC for your assistance. With the steering column switch set to AUTO the auto seat return works !!
