2003 s type R fuel pump problems
just picked up a 2003 jaguar str im new to jaguars car cranks but does not start haven’t checked none of the fuses but im thinking it might be the fuel pump since the car has been sitting for 2 years cant find any threads on fuel pumps for a STR does someone know where i can buy a fuel pump for the str?
The X202 supercharged vehicles use two fuel pumps:

Use a smart phone to connect to the vehicle's ECM/PCM via the OBD port with a Bluetooth interface and the Torque app to read the fuel pressure. There should be roughly 3 bar of pressure with the ignition in the ON position prior to engaging the starter motor.

Welcome to the forum.
A little history of your new car will be very helpful before jumping straight to condemning the fuel pumps. Was this somebody's reliable daily driver and this is a new problem out of the blue? Was this a derelict project dragged out of a field and this is the first start attempt in years? Something in between?
Before entering FullPanicMode™, check the the security system in case it entered theft protection mode. Watch the red LED on top of the dash to see if any codes are stored. Here's how the light is supposed to behave if all is good and no faults are present:
First, lock the car with the key fob. Press the lock button a second time to set the alarm system. The horn should chirp once. Watch the little red light. It should flash once every few seconds or so to show the system is armed. Now press the key fob unlock button twice to unlock all the doors. The red light should go out. Now hop in the driver's seat and turn the key to RUN (Not start yet). The red light should come on solid ONCE for about 3 seconds and then go out. If it flashes anything after that, you've got a stored fault and the security system may have inhibited the fuel injectors.

well i don’t know much about the history of the car just know it ran before it was parked hasn’t been started in 2 years has 130k miles, car cranked once but didn’t want to crank again im pretty sure its bc of the battery since one of the cells is bad. i’m just thinking it might be the fuel pump because the pump didnt prime. i will be checking the security features, does anyone know if the 4.2l v8 fuel pump fit in the STR or where can i buy the fuel pump for a STR if needed.
thanks.
thanks.

As posted earlier, the X202 supercharged vehicles use two fuel pumps. The one on the left of the vehicle is to pump fuel to the main pump on the right side of the 'saddle' tank.
What is the fuel pressure with the ignition in the ON position prior to engaging the starter?

Has the battery been replaced yet? You mentioned being new to the world of Jaguar. These cars are VERY sensitive to low prestart voltage. You'll wind up with all sorts of spurious faults. If you have not done so already, replace that poor battery and save yourself a LOT of grief.
Make sure the replacement is fully charged, too. Most batteries are not fully charged in the store, and you can't count on the alternator to do the job properly.

The one for the left is a siphon pump, which doesn't work for the X202 with the supercharged engine.
