2003 S Type R Radio Help
Hey all,
I'm new to the Jaguar scene, always just owned Fords until my son decided he wanted something really different. His S Type R is in fantastic shape, we are just going through all of the maintenance and inspection to make sure everything is perfect. The only problem is the blank nav/audio/climate screen. I've tried to re-load the .KWI file and we've replaced the head unit, to no avail. It might be the DVD drive, but before we go down that path, it might be nice to simply upgrade to an aftermarket double-din head unit with all of the modern amenities and current maps. How do we replace the climate controls in doing this? I'll be searching the forums, but if anyone has a link to one that would save lots of time. Cheers!

Interestingly, I found that the pinouts for the connectors on the air conditioning remote panel are identical to those on the non-nav panel module. So in theory I should be able to install a panel module, plug in the harness from the remote module and my climate control is ready to go. I can then go about getting a head unit of my choice and re-wiring everything, add amps.
So long as you don't mind losing everything being controlled from the touchscreen.
I don't know if you asked but it's almost certainly the nav itself that's the problem, not the head unit, if you got the KWI disc done right.
