Unhappy 2004 S 4.2 Automatic Transmission Filler

I'm pretty good at reviewing manuals and looking at pictures. I purchased the manual for my 2004 S model 4.2. I found the section discussing change of transmission fluid. There is s special tool shown to remove the fuller plug. The picture and plug do not really look the same. I can locate what looks like a filler plug on the drivers side of transmission. My question is this. Is the special tool required? Does anyone have a substitute Idea. I've tried everything in my tool box. If so does anyone know where I can buy this special tool? Does anyone have a picture of where this plug is?

If you read the existing threads they show various tools for the entire job.

The filler plug on mine is on the passenger side near the rear of the pan up on the side of the transmission. It takes an 8mm hex bit. The easiest thing to do is buy an 8mm hex socket and punch the hex bit out of the socket with a hammer and a punch. Slide the 8mm hex bit into the side of the fill port. Then put two 8mm wrenches on the end of the bit sticking out of the side of the transmission. This fill port plug is usually very tight, and it takes quite a bit of force to remove. Once I had my car up on jack stands I climbed under the back of the car and used my foot to push the wrenches forward to break the plug free.
