Hi Guys, Please help !!

I have a 2006 Jaguar S Type 2.7td in our shop which seem to have a starter signal problem. I got the car in with a shot (completely drained and new 6 week old ) battery. We fitted another new battery, changed the Ignition and starter relays and all I get is a click from the starter. The new battery also lost lots of power so it seems like a dead short ?? I see a small black box (BOSCH) next to the ABS Pump and assume it's a electronic starter solenoid ?? Can this be the reason ?

My Autel DS 708 scanner which is quite good and accurate reports NO FAULTS in any of the systems.

Please guys I will appreciate someone's help with this.

 

Have you had the starter off and bench tested in?

I would post to the UK forum. We have very little dealings with the diesel since it was not sold in the US.

I know there are a lot more problems with the diesel but don't know anything about the starter.

The car starts if you put direct power to the signal wire on the starter, but only clicks when trying to start via ignition.

What could be the problem ?

What is the pats light doing? It's top middle center of dash? Does it go out when ignition on or flash, if it flashes count number and pattern
