Default 2006 Jaguar S-Type Underside

While looking for the source of an oil leak, or transmission
fluid leak I think, I notice a large covering hanging down
on one end, as if it has lost some bolts. It's in the area
of the oil pan.

Does anyone know what this covering is or the importance of
it? Of course, it has oil spots in several different places
on the underside and I leave a sizable spot on the driveway
when I park now, especially when the engine is hot from
driving home from the office.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Earnest

That looks like a rear corner of the plastic undertray. It should be secured by a nut on a mounting stud on the underside of the body. Hope this helps. Carl

Thanks Carl. Looks like I'll be crawling under there and trying to find a nut that fits. I'm sure the original nut is long gone.

Earnest.
