Default engine question

Hi: I have been a member for a while and enjoy reading all your info and comments. I now have a problem of my own. I have a 1990 XJS convertible with 45k. I drive about 500 miles a year. This past winter your local friendly squirrel decided to build a home on top of the engine. I caught the problem quickly and cleaned out the mess. (2 hours with a vacuum). Anyway, I replaced 3 plug wires. Engine runs great. My problem is another wire had been chewed and I can't find it in a jaguar parts book. The wire runs from the passenger side air cleaner (2 prongs clips on to the top of the filter housing) and the wire runs up to the top of the distributor cap and screws into a cable that runs to the fire wall. It seems an easy fix if I can figure out what to buy. The only info I found is a paper tag that says "ignition harness". I have a genuine Jaguar XJS parts catalog and it does not list any "ignition harness". Any help with this will be much appreciated. Cheers, Don

Hello, Don,
As you've been skulking around in here for almost a year, you probably know about the XJS section. That's the place to ask about this sort of detail.

Welcome to the forums (although belatedly) from ElinorB.

Welcome.

Yep, the XJ-S section is the place for a quickie repost of that question, and there is a thread in there right now about valley wires, as one member has had a fire in that area.

His is a Marelli car also.

Welcome to the forum Don,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

Squirrels and mice appear to prefer the XJS. Several similar reports have been posted on the forum.

I've copied your question to XJS forum for advice from members with the same model
. Here's the direct link to it:
