2006 S-Type Gearbox Fault - No crank condition RESOLVED
I love it when a plan comes together!
And when we get the results! And even more so when it is apparent in the headline!
Well done to all involved.

Hey everyone!
Im testing my TCM cables too.
Grounds seem good, live positive (coresponding to f33 in front fusebox) has power,
but the Green Orange cable that is ignition powered (coresponding to f15 in primary fusebox) is measuring 11.7v both at the TCM plug and at the F15 fuse (so do the other fuses there, powered by the ignition)
is it normal?
thank you!

possibly. What’s the condition!?

ive got a p1643 ( communication error between ecu and tcm:
- i know for a fact that the Ecu, Tcm & J gate are all ok.
- Tested the continuity of the cables from the tcm plug to the ecu plug and to the fuseboxes, and they have a very low (towards 0) resistance, so they seem ok
- tcm connector has two positive calbles:
#1: Brown Red Live positive has same voltage as battery: 12.2v
#2: Green Orange ignition positive measures 11.7v. ( and so i tested at its fuse, in the primary fusebox, and they all measure 11.7)
This is why im asking if its normal?
many thanks 😎
Coming back here for those that might be dealing with the “Gearbox Fault” or “Gear Box Fault”. Mine ended up being a broken wire on the right side (US Passenger) wheel well. Take a look at post #50 below:

@kr98664
It was a wire from fuse 33 in the under hood block that goes to the transmission. The wire supplies constant battery voltage to the transmission control module, and for whatever reason that wire failed from rubbing near the passenger bumper. Replaced the wire and it now purrs.
I remember some conversation about a capacitor on one of those wires. Was almost certain the capacitor failed, but it was just the section of wire that needed to be replaced. Was dropping voltage, but isn’t now that it was replaced.
Any idea on how to mark this thread as solved?

Brown and Red earthing line from Fuse F33 in the front engine fuse box leading down the right hand side wing, across the front bumper and up the left hand side wing. Broken wire approx 3/4 the way along the right hand side of the vehicle behind the right hand side headlight cluster.
you guys helped me out. I had the same issue with a no crank issue, replaced the J gate and still the same 'gear box fault' with a code U0402:00. Something about invalid data from TCM (trans control module), after messing around with fuses and wondering if it was gear box fluid, low battery, etc etc...I found this. Turns out it was a broken wire on the wiring loom from the Fuse F33. Thank you! 😊
