Man, you guys really don't know what you're missing out on with the diesels.
3.0 A6 does 150mph and when driven carefully can return around 48mpg or thereabouts too
I guess its cos fuels so cheap over there for you that its not really too much of an issue....YET!!!

The only issue here is how expensive is it going to be to get the diesle really moving over here! Another issue is that we barely have any diesle pump stations anymore. The closest one to my house is a 15 minute drive to the north almost!

Well, for starters, the only diesels we sell are trucks and a few select...very few select passenger cars. Once you head out on the road though, most of em have diesel pumps.

Makes you wonder though when the majority of Europe are operating on Diesel why the US hasn't pushed it more?
Surely it can only be the cheap cost of fuel over there?
If the diesel engine offers similar performance figures with higher torque ratios and can also more or less double your range with regard to fuel economy, why wouldn't most car owners look at it?
I find it incredible that a country the size of the USA is still operating mostly on petrol powered vehicles given todays economics, the rate that fuel is being consumed and global warming in general![&:]

That's it though mojo...oil can be turned into either petrol or diesel! Either way oil companies still make their money!
