2007 S-Type R
Hey guys...newbiw here. Been reading a lot of the threads and trying to do research before I finally bite the bullet and buy one of these things. I do have a couple of questions I'll throw out there for everyone who may have the knowledge:
-Is it true that 2007 is the last year for the Type R? That in 2008 there is an S-type that has the same lower bumper as the Type-R but is not?
- There is a car out there that has red front brake calipers and the current owner saying it is part of a Portofino edition? I've never seen that monicker anywhere else. This car also has the aluminum interior instead of the wood which I love and have not seen a lot of.
I'm a car enthusiast and drive cars that are not of the ordinary - I just sold my 2005 MB C230 Kompressor reluctantly but I wanted a new ride. Was looking at another MB a 2005 C55 AMG when I got a wind of this car.
Thanks in advance for any and all responses!

All S Types had the same style front fascia by 2008. There were R's produced in 2008.
Google just about anywhere and you can find a ton of info.
Portofino.. I doubt.. Portfolio yes but never on an S Type.
If it doesn't say R all over the place and doesn't have a Supercharged engine its not an R

There is a Portfolio S Type....I posted a listing for one just a few days ago to show the Aluminum interior...Here it is.........

This might be the car that the OP is looking at. These are VERY rare, as if the R isn't rare already. Here is another listing showing the very rare two tone interior option...

Also, I'm betting the OP is just repeating information from the add above since the seller has listed the Portfolio car as a "Portofino".
The part about the fascia is correct. To cut costs they just ran one bumper cover for the last 08's. Since the R bumper has ducts required for the R's oil coolers, that is the one that they used.
They won't necessarily be badged as an R (some people debadge) and indeed some add an R when the car isn't
So, check the engine
Ask a jag dealer nicely and they'll generally print out the whole build for a car if you give them the VIN. More info than you'll likely want but even tells you the colors of the seat belts never mind the body LOL
