Exclamation Air Bag Warning Chimes

I have a 2003 S-Type 3.0L with a 5-speed manual transmission. This Jag does not have all the buzzers and bells, and I like it that way. One of the bells it does have is a 5-chime sequence that begins about 30 seconds after I start the car and repeats 5 times. Every 30 minutes in a long drive it repeats.
I am told it is a warning about the air bag system. Also, the airbag light in the instrument panel does not light during the start-up process, nor does it come on at any other time. The light on the dash board on the passenger side does light if someone sits in the passenger seat. No codes show on the Innova 3100 OBDII scanner.
Any ideas as to the problem and/or solution? Fuse? Circuit breaker? COmputer?

Dave,

I've moved your question from General Tech Help to S-Type forum. This is the place to post technical questions about your model.

I always fasten my seat belt.
I want to know why the air bag indicator light in the instrument panel never lights during the starting test period. I have read in another thread that the 5 chime repeated 5 times every 30 minutes has something to do with the air bag system.

If it does not self test (same as the MIL) then it's probably a failed/removed lamp (LED?).

How difficult is it to change ore repair a failed LED in the system test LED panel?
