Angry Air con problem

Hi I am new to this forum,

I have a 2004 S-Type 2.7 which has been in and out of the garage for over a year now due to the gas leaking from the air con system.

So far to date a new condenser has been fitted due to the bolt that holds the pipe in was not holding, possible cross thread or blown due to pressure. Replacement pipe fitted due to leak.
last month the heater valve failed due to a badly corroded heater plug Which also damaged the AC unit in the dash.

All the heater problems has been sorted, but whilst in the garage with the engine running and air con on there was a loud bang and the pipes to the compressor have blown off.

I am at the end of my tether with it now please can anyone help?

Patrick

Welcome to the forum Patrick,

I've copied your question from New Member Area - Intro a MUST to S-Type forum. Members here with the same model will be able to help.

Hi Patrick, and welcome to the forum.

It sounds like your AC pressure sensor has failed. This sensor is designed to shut off the compressor if the high side pressure rises above 420 PSI.

The sensor is located on the input line to the condenser (by the radiator). It has a special valve that allows replacement without having to discharge the system.
