Ok, gotta ask the question... What the heck are you doing? Are you transferring a Jaguar V8 into another car and if so, why?

Seems almost impossible to me.
================================================== ===========
Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car
Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall, and
Torque is how far you take the wall with you
Why does it seem impossible? The only thing that makes it really awkward is the management system, and that can be got around quite successfully by using a manual gearbox and standalone engine management, such as Megasquirt (other standalones are available ). I'm fitting the engine into a 1992 Volvo 240 estate. Why? Because I can, and because a friend of mine has let me have the engine at an unbelievable price.
I was originally fitting a T5 Volvo engine, but the lack of suitable transmissions is a real problem. Most people doing that swap chop the front off a 960 auto bellhousing and replace the front of a BMW 6 speed bellhousing with it. The ultra rare Volvo RWD 'box for the later engines has a tendency to blow up much beyond 200ft/lbs and I was hoping to make twice that @ 30psi of boost.

Thanks Rick. I've arranged to pick the car up in early January, but I can show you a photo of a Volvo 240 with an empty engine bay, if you like? And an intercooler designed for a V8 that I'll probably use to replace the chargecooler?

I've got a photo of the XJR too, but it looks just like any other XJR

Default Flywheel from manual F-type

What about using the flywheel from the F-type with AJ126 engine and S6-45 manual gearbox?

Default Addendum!

I expressed myself ambiguously!

The manual F-type is equipped with an AJ126 engine and ZF S6-45 gearbox. I am suggesting that the flywheel from this car might be used to mate the AJ-V8 engine with the S-type Diesel's ZF S6-53 gearbox.

I believe that the new AJ126 and AJ133 crankshafts use 10 bolts to secure the flexplate or flywheels.

The older AJ-V8 engines use 8 bolt.

Default What about AJ133?

TIJoe, do you (or.anyone else) know.if the AJ126 flywheel can be used on the crankshaft of the AJ133?

I believe that all dimensions should be the same, on that side of the crankshaft, but do not want to assume.

I assume they are the same, but I am not 100% sure. Someone needs to respond who has physically checked or compared the Flexplates and P/Ns

Default AJ126, AJ133 flex plate part numbers

Yes, I have been trying to ascertain part numbers of AJ126 and AJ133 flex plates (hoping that they are the same!) so far without success.

flex plate from AJ v8 4.2 auto is a 8 bolt,
you will not put a 10 bolt flywheel on an 8 bolt crank.

Have you been able to test the flywheel yet? I'm really keen to speak to you if possible about the flywheel as I'm at a point with my project (4.4 AJV8 - Ford Capri) where I need to machine the flywheel so I can get the gearbox in for good. I have the S-Type clutch, box and bits etc.
