Default All 4 rims are BENT!

On my 2006 STR ive had a rough ride even after replacing rear wheel bearings. From hubs seemed tight. Well today I brought it to TWO road force balancers and the 2nd place showed me the bent rims.

so whats my best option here? Also, are 2006 STR rims CHROME? Because these are definitely chromed. And flaking.

Find a wheel straitening service in your area. I've seen some pretty amazing results.

Oh yeah..While you have the tires off the rims, Use a die grinder and disc to take the chrome off the inside bead of the wheel. The coating will continue to degrade and you will have air leaking every time a piece of chrome dislodges from the alloy wheel.

Use bead sealer to stop the leaks. I had two of the best rim/tire places here in the NYC metro area tell me that it was definitely my center section seal that was leaking on some rare 30 year old 3 pc rims I had restored. After using the bead sealer on bead portion of the somewhat pitted aluminum rim halves all the slow leaking stopped. I don't know what to say about the removing the chrome. I think dealers had them done as an option to dress up the cars. It's still available from manufacturers like LIncoln. Dumb, dumb idea IMHO. Curb rash is inevitable in urban zones in the NE with belgium block wheel grinder curbs. So are bent rims from crater like pot holes.

Get the rims checked and straightened if repairable. Let us know if they can remove then chrome. I'd be curious about that.

I'd suggest checking Tirerack for new rims if you're nervous about getting reconditioned OEM style rims but Tirerack seems ignorant about the two different rim widths?

Just to confirm the STR Jaguar 'Vulcan' rims are not chromed from new. They were however painted silver from new.

Cal Chrome couldn't straighten this wheels?

I was hoping you could get off cheap. If you buy more wheels..who's to say you won't be back in the same boat?

If you did not know the part number for the 9.5 inch wide Vulcan rear wheel it is XR831515.
They were only fitted to the STR's and only from vin N13089 (4.75/05 Model year.) Non R s-types used the same narrower wheels front and back when Vulcan wheels were chosen as an option, only the R's had the wider rear wheels.
Also many of the 06MY STR's had the 19 inch Barcelona wheels as they were a zero cost option in the last months of production.
The end result is the Vulcan rears can be quite hard to find!
