Default AllData Subscriptions - S-type specific and non-specific Qs!

So I have an '02 S-type with the 3.0L engine. It looks like I am going to end up becoming ever familiar with it. I am looking at the AllData DIY subscription. I have other cars/trucks/SUVs too.

Does a subscription to alldatadiy give you unlimited access or do you have to have a subscription for each vehicle? I cannot tell from their website.

I know at least one person on here has a subscription. Is this something that others of you have tried and found useful? I have the Autozone membership and some things on there are good, but it seems most are pretty general, and not specific to the S-type.

Yes, I already have the JTIS CDs (don't laugh PoBoyBlues, they are still useful if that is all one has!).

If I get the AllDataDIY subscription, will I be able to look up data for my other vehicles when I need to?

Thanks for your input.

Initial vehicle is $25.00, you can add vehicles for an additional $15.00 ea. per 1 year subscription!

Greg, just for the heck of it I went to alldata and looked at their "view sample vehicle" page. That is exactly what you are going to get for your type(s) of vehicles. Again for the $25.00 I feel that it is well worth every penny.

Thanks. I went in and had a look. It looks like they have the 'exploded diagrams' I was looking for in another post.

JoycesJag, I have another question if I may: I have a PC out in the shop that I use to look up parts and such. I also like to use my notebook in the house. Do you know if I can install my subscription on more than one computer? There might even be a time when I would want to look something up while at work, say if I was ordering parts or something.

It looks like the "demo vehicles" preview pages actually list manufacturer part numbers and such. That would be very useful.

Thanks for sharing your insight.

Just curious, did you purchase the one-year or 5-years? Five years for $45 sounds like I deal, if I knew I was going to keep a vehicle for more than one year.

You can use any computer and I signed up for a yearly subscription. I believe before it expires I can "re"-purchase for $14.00 a year after that.

Originally got a subscription for my X. Since them I've got all my kids cars on there as well. It comes in handy.

Anyone with an STR tried AllData? What did you think? Does it have plenty of STR-specific data, diagnostic flowcharts and pics?
