Dear all,

after performing all pinpointing tests, I have to face fact: my alternator is dead. I tried to check all the posts on this topic but I haven't manage to find out if it's really necessary to lift the engine up or if it's possible another way.

Any idea ? any post on it ?

The workshop manual is pretty thorough on directions. I followed it and it was not too bad. I think the passenger side mount gets loosened and the steering rack gets lowered and the alt comes out the bottom/back. Motorcarman has a post on how to do it. Search his name and alt removal
