Anyone tried aluminum lugnuts? Similar metal to the rims....

Those are tapered seat lug nuts. Not suitable for our type of wheels and in fact potentially dangerous if used.

What about aluminum lugnuts in general-not worth the bother?

 

I'd worry about the threads stripping/pulling out given the torque load or eventual galvanic reaction between the nut and the stud.

The description confirms they are tapered seat type.

 

I just emailed him about shipping flat seated lugs and described the problem with them loosening. Maybe just good old steel in this application. And yes, the lugs are more intimate with the studs than the aluminum wheels and were' 300' from the FL Atlantic spay so are assailed nonstop with salt spray.
