I just purchased a 2005 s-type w 40,000miles. Ive had the car a week with no problems, but today i noticed a squeeking noise when i brake down to around 30mph and then start to accelerate. As soon as i hit the gas a quick sqeek happens under the car toward the middle or rear of the vehicle. I was just wondering if anybody else has run into this problem. Thanks for any help or suggestions.

 

Maybe the rear trans mount or a diff bushing(?)

This a common fault with the gearbox as it shifts back into the correct gear. Usually only happens with a heavy foot on the gas. There's a technical article around somewhere and requires a fluid change or additive to fix IIRC.

 

Thanks to all that gave suggestions to my noise problem. I will take my car to mechanic with a little knowledge of my my issues.
