Default Any Thoughts on my niggles.

Heya.
The 4 main problems I have with my car are:
1. Im having more and more problems getting my car out of park unless I pop it into neutral, apply parking brake, turn off ignition then pop it into park. Otherwise it can take quite a few attempts and a few brake presses. Its never left me stranded but seems to be getting worse.
2. The electrochromic rear view mirror dims so slowly its useless. Ive just replaced it for a second hand one that does the same. I have a buddy with an S type who has no problems. The drivers side door mirror dims at the same speed and the passanger side dosent dim at all (not a problem though)
3. A few minutes after parking up my air con fan starts up. Ive read this is to promote a cooling flow through the car in hot days. but mine does it most times after parking. sometimes setting off the alarm.
4. I cant get much air to blow into the footwell. And if I select feet/screen I don't get much out of either. However if I select the one press demist button it blows on the screen like I think it should.

Apart from these points I love my car and see myself buying many more Jags.

I welcome any thoughts you all may have.

Thanks.

Rob.

1. Get the bolts tightened up on the shift linkage ASAP.

2. ?

3. Do you mean the fan attached to the radiator? If so, it is normal for it to come on to dissipate heat.

4. Could be a stuck blend door? Does the air come out another port other than where you direct it?

Confused about 35 plate! Which side of VIN M45255 is the car and auto or manual?

Thanks JagV8! I was confused too. I still can't remember when the plate and years change.

Thanks for the reply.
Will book it in for bolts tightening. The fan sounds more like from the aircon rather than radiator fan but will look next time it does it. Im usually indoors when it does and by the time I get to it its stopped. Its just annoying that it sometimes sets the alarm off. The blend doors/dampers could be stuck for the foot well as I cant get more than a waft coming from there and nowhere else. The screen isn't stuck as it blows when I select defrost. It just dosent blow on the screen if I select any option with screen in it from the mode button.
Also it does seem to use a lot of fuel JK

Just for us colonials- '53 plate' or any other number means nothing. Best put the model year of your car to get the widest audience.

Translation from British to colonial for 53 plate is second half of 2003, 03 would be the first half.

What was used in subsequent years? 04 and 54 etc? Obsessive compulsive types like me need to know.

Yes. 0x (or 1x etc) starts in March I think, and add 50 for cars from, er, Sept I think. Really ugly.

Reasoning was (I believe) that a prefix or suffix letter was used that changed in August causing a huge spike in car sales as people waited for the "new" registration the two numbers per year it was hoped would even that out.

I understand so, but the actual numbering sure is ugly. I find people struggle with math(s) and mod 50....
