The lighter in the armrest of my Jag,2003 S-Type V8,is working but the light around it is not.Does it worth it to get it fix?also I want a jack with cable so I can hook up the Ipod so maybe I can get them both at the same time.
What do you think guys? Thank you in advance

 

You can fix the bulb yourself. The unit pulls out and the bulb is attached to the side of the cigarette lighter as seen here on the bottom

 

possible the seperate conector for the bulb itself may just be unplugged
pull cup holder insert out look for and remove the 2 torx screws that secure it and then pry from sides of liner and pull upwards
simple to do

Shoot! Guys,I took the insert of the armrest out but my lighter doesn't have a bulb,I can see the pin where you connect the bulb onto the lighter.and I didn't see a separate conector for the bulb.In Gordo's pic,I can see that the bulb needs a connector(a different wire) and I have only the one for the lighter...Maybe I'll have to take it to the dealer
