Smile An Aux Input Solution!

Hi All-

As I’ve started to become more immersed into my S-Type and these forums, one of my first priority mods was to get a solid solution for an aux input. The previous owner settled for the tape converter, which as an audiophile, I can’t stand.

After searching up, down and sideways, I found a solution that works for my 2002 PERFECTLY. (I’m assuming this would work for earlier years as well) This box replaces your CD changer and the head unit acts as if a CD is playing continuously. I put a ground loop isolator in line with the 3.5mm lead and viola, fantastic audio playback.

In my case, I purchased a lightning/3.5mm adapter. I plug in one lightning cable to get sound and charging, very clean looking. You could also put a Bluetooth adapter on instead and have streaming audio and possibly a microphone for calling (if you purchase one of those models)

This isn’t my listing or anything, just wanted to share because I’ve read a lot of different solutions on here. (Including the one which required you to solder lines directly into the tape deck pre-amp! Genius idea, but my hands aren’t that steady)

Aux Input for S-Type

-G

I think this only works on the pre-facelift cars that have the head unit and dashboard that looks like this:

The later cars use a fiber optic link for the audio from the CD changer.
They have a dashboard that looks like this:

Correct, this only works for those early years with that exact headunit.

Really? That's odd, since he says he is located in the UK.
