Default Backup Park Assist Question

I just noticed that the backup parking assist wasn't beeping. I searched and read the questions about the rear driver parking assist system from as far back as 2010 and unfortunately wasn't lucky enough to have them solve my problem so here goes. Based on previous posts, I turned the key to the "on" position, placed the transmission in reverse (parking brake automatically released) and with an assistants foot on the brake listened for a click at each of the sensors....nothing. I next spent the better part of an hour looking the horn under the package tray in the trunk (boot).....no luck. Checked the fuses, F29 (5 amp) was good. Everything seems to be connected and no evidence of water in the trunk around the module plus all the sensors were tight as far as I could tell. What next...replace the Parking assist module? Also, there are two pin connectors laying next to the parking assist module. One is blue and one is gray. both female connectors and neither one plugged in to anything nor can I find anything to plug in to them . Should these be plugged in somewhere? Appreciate any advice on the connectors or troubleshooting the parking assist system. Not sure how to proceed.
