Both Seats Will Not Move Forward or Backward
I just got my 2006 S-Type back from the shop and neither the driver's or passenger seat will move forward or backward. I checked under both seats and there is nothing blocking the track. (I removed the mats just to make sure.)
On both seats, the controls for Up/Down and Tilt work fine.
When I try to use the forward/back controls, I hear a faint noise on forward, and no noise on backward. In either case, neither seat will move forward or backward.
This worked fine just a few days ago.
The shop recommended unplugging the battery for 20 minutes in order to force a restart.
Has anyone else ever experienced this?

They replaced the dome light/bluetooth microphone, and changed a relay for the AC (per some excellent advice I learned here on the forum).
The seats were working fine before I dropped the car off.

Battery reset was unsuccessful. When I bought the car, it appears that the seat leather is new. Could they have removed the seats while replacing leather, and then reinstalled both incorrectly?
Can you call and ask them?
You unhooked the battery like they said now go back and see what the next step is.
We don't have very good info here?
Did you just buy the car or did you just get it repaired at the shop?
