Brake Assembly for 2003 Stype R?
Hey,
I recently purchased a 2003 stype R with 66,000 miles on it. It runs like a beast however the brakes are ridiculously squeaky. It sounds like the back brakes so my dad and I took off the tires to check the brakes and we were stopped with confusion. Is there reallytwo seperate disk brakes on the back? We looked in the manual and it says nothing about the brakes. Also I called Jaguar to see if I could purchase a shop manual but they say they don't have one. I would much rather change the brakes myself however I'm stunned at these complex brakes on the stype R. Does anyone have any advice pleassssse!!
Thanks Chris.

The R model with Brembo brakes has a seperate parking brake caliper because the Brembo calipers do not have parking brake capabilities. If you are changing the rotors you can either remove the park brake calipers or remove the 2 torx bolts that hold the 2 halves of the pb caliper together. If you are simply pad slapping(not recommended) you can change the pads without removing either caliper. Just make sure you hold the park brake apply button down when you turn the car off and the park brake wont automatically apply so you can get the caliper off or apart without any trouble.
