I swapped relay with the fuel pump relay (I'm guessing if the relay is broken, putting it on the fuel pump would show pretty quick!).

Now pursuing the wiring from relay to J gate - but that's where finding the extra connector comes in. Took up the back seat, but unwilling to pull up all the carpeting without asking on here if anyone knew the location of the connector shown on the wiring diagram first.

Also wondering if there is a simpler solution - removing the solenoid altogether? That would make the car less "safe", but would also avoid the possibility of breaking the delicate gear shift.

I simply removed the solenoid and moved the little white plastic piece up out of the way. I haven't had issues.

I may have a similar problem. I cannot shift from park nor can I turn ignition key off. Engine will run. I believe I damaged an interlock cable from the shifter to the ignition interlock cylinder. I don't know what the shifter end of the cable should look like. The ball socket which attaches to the ball of the shifter assembly seems to be intact. The nylon sleeve near the attachment to the shifter appears to be in two pieces and there appears to be no way to fix it to the nearby mount apparatus. Can anyone point me to a picture of the cable and where it can be acquired etc. Sorry I can't figure how to do a New Post.

This damage resulted from trying to remove the lock cylinder which I am still unable to do. I have some info which talks about a lock tang but am unable to locate it on the lock cylinder housing. I have the JTIS info but I can't relate it to the actual cylinder. Any tips or info would be greatly appreciated.
