Default Modified Brown tops into Blue...

Last night I pulled my valve train again (ugh...double suck). I decided I might as well drill out the brown tops and see if it works to firm up shifting in the 722.6 transmission. I'm more than happy to share what they feel like and how they perform if someone can tell me what I did wrong.

My car is stuck in park. All fuses, as in every last one in every hidden spot are good. I have brake lights. I can hear the click when I step on the brake pedal.

I can see the lever move when I step on the brake, and the cable conections are tight. Replaced the battery. Cleaned every conections in the electrical power flow and cleaned the MAF. I also did a hard reset.

Took trans conductor plate off running car, replaced the damn conection in the trans to tcu cable (which was dry) and everything else I could find on the Jag and Benz forums.

It seems to be mechanical not electrical. I have the rear end up in the air and can spin the rear wheels on both sides while the car is raised but not when lowered.

Guys, I'm fried. I've been working on this for every after work and physically can't keep working on it until midnight and still work during the day.

Does anyone have any ideas? I cannot take it to a tech on my 80% of my pay goes toward child support new income-lost my *** in the divorce world I'm living in now. I just can't think of what to try next.

My old gal is a 2001 supercharged Vanden Plas with about 140k on her.

Sincerely,

Lost and without hope...

1st guess is that the outside linkage is not connected to the inside lever, which I remember was quoted in a instruction manual as a warning to take care when you put valve body back.

[ Thanks Avos. I think you're correct. Last night I disconnected the shift cable from the transmission. The shifter now moves. I paid special attention on getting the trans shaft in the proper hole, but did it wrong.

A tech was kind and said I should have put the trans in neutral first and that I'd been lucky before re engaging it while it was in gear.....

So off with the oil pan again after work tonight...

:/
