Brake problem solved..!
Hi guys,
just thought i would let you know my brake issue has been solved. If some of you may remember ...after changing the disc's all round and the pads all round i still had a grinding feeling under foot from the brake paddle. Making the feeling of faulty pads or discs.
Well as we say ...it always takes an expert, and in this case i went to one and the issue was resolved and i was away back on the road in 20 minutes.
It was the rear left hand side ABS sensor
diagnosed and replaced for £50....and i was away in no time.
Simple as that.

what was the failure mode? the wheel speed sensor can make a noise if its touching the ring. or maybe the sensor told the ABS to apply the brake.
I am curious what was doing what to what to make the grinding noise.
this is how i learn!

Hey...Aarcuda,
I had the problem for a while ,and after replacing the discs and pads the problem was still there. It was hard to describe , like a grinding knocking, rubbing kind of feeling under foot. From what i gather the ABS & braking sensors work by magnets, and when a sensor goes bad the magnet agitates backward and forward so rapidly it creates this grinding knocking sound / sensation. But no damage is caused. All this information is what i have been told by an expert of 40 years or more. I was suspecting the Module to be bad after replacing all the brake bits on the wheels, but after describing the symptoms the guy said..."nah mate, it ya sensor" he was right , and after the diagnostics and sensor change, all is well and the car drives like a champ, with fuel consumption back to normal. I hope this helps my friend.
Oh....P.S.... The information center was telling me "Brake fault" and on a long run when everything was hot , the dashboard lite up like Christmas, BRAKE FAULT, DSC FAULT, ABS fault.....the whole works.

Did you post about these warnings in your original post?
If you did someone should have told you stright away it was a fault with the a sensor or sensor ring.
Mellow
so without the detail, i am going to take a guess. if the WSS fails, maybe its giving too many counts or too few so it is activating the ABS to apply the brakes and wear out the pads and make the noise?????
