brake question
While my oil leak was being fixed on my '04 S-type, the dealer gave me an '07 3.0L S-type with 4100 mi. to drive.
First thing I noticed was the brakes...wow, very strong braking, extremely crisp. Barely touch the pedal and the car quickly slows down FAST!
Now, my 04 (at least I thought) has good brakes. Better than my wife's Cayenne and as good as my Boxster with only 10,000 mi on it. BUT..there was no comparison to the brakes on that '07.
My question: If I replace my pads with new OEM's or better, can I expect comparable increase in braking? Again, I have no symptoms of needing new pads, no fading, no noise, no mushiness. Just would like to get the feel the 07 has.

FL Genius. I am talking about creaking etc. Not a squeel.
I have narrowed that down to the heavy *** spring they put on caliper. If you watch it, you can see it jumping across caliper when brakes are applied at slow speed.

i noticed that on reg s types ive had as loaners, come on much quicker then my big boys on the R however when you really get into them deep they dont work nearly as well, I do wish mine had the quick intial bite though!
