Default Broken Factory 6 Disk CD Changer

I have a 2003 S-Type with the orginal factory installed 6 Disk CD Changer. About 2 weeks ago without warning it stopped working. The panel states "No CD in the changer". When I check the changer there are no disks stuck in the changer. All are still in the magazine. I spoke with my local dealership and they said it was most likely the changer was bad and needed to be replaced. Cost approximately $800.
Does anyone have any suggestions with regards to replacement CD Changers or repair locations? I appreciate any help provided.

Did you check the fuses, connections etc...?

Try a searchable wrecking site www.car-part.com, many of us have used this site with great luck! Try ebay as well.

Default Same Problem

I am having the same problem with my 2005 S-Type in-trunk CD changer. It will work for a few days, but will eventually give me a "no CD in Changer" error.
Might it just be the cartridge?
Any help would be appreciated.

When they go bad the only option is to replace them. We don't have any information about repairing. The good thing is they don't fail very often so a I would get a used one from EBay or from one of the members on this list.

Default Ebay

Thanks. There are actually quite a few on eBay for reasonable prices. However, it is not clear which years and models have the same CD changer as my 2005 S-Type (no navigation). Is this information available somewhere?

The X200 (2000MY to 2002MY) are different from the X202 (2003MY>)
The X202 S-Type, X400 X-Type and X350 XJ all use the BOF (D2B network) CD changer.
Alot of the CD changers will interchange between these Models.
